Child Therapy

Are you feeling adrift as a parent?

You remember when a kiss and a hug could fix anything. But lately, it feels like your child is navigating a world you don’t have the map for.

Maybe they’ve become a tiny perfectionist, obsessing over “gold stars” until they’re too anxious even to try.

Perhaps they’ve gone loud, not just to be heard but because they can’t control all the emotions coursing through their tiny body.

You want to help your child, but all the parenting advice in the world doesn’t seem to make your child better.

I provide a safe harbor for big feelings.

I provide a safe harbor for big feelings.

A seven-year-old will never choose to lie on a leather chair and calmly discuss all of their emotions and issues. I can confidently say I have never seen that happen even once in my years of experience.

Instead, we’ll use the language that kids actually speak, which involves play, stories, and genuine curiosity.

My office is a place where they don’t have to be “good” or “perfect.” They only have to be themselves.

Together, we’ll help them unpack that heavy backpack of emotions they’ve been lugging around so they can stand a little taller.

Skills are dressed as play.

Throughout the play therapy process, your child will learn to notice their bodies and the emotions within them.

Games and toys are ideal teaching tools for these skills, and my office is full of them.

There is something for every type of child, ranging from dolls and sand to games and slime.

The fun is also the work.

The fun is also the work.

As we play, your child will learn essential life skills, such as regulating their own body, connecting with others, and exploring new ways to communicate.

They will also have the chance to process difficult or traumatic events they may have had through play.

This processing is essential for children who have experienced difficult things, as words are not their primary form of communication.

Using play in child therapy opens the door to their world.

Experience therapy anchored in connection.
